ga.tribes introduces "dot tribes", a new concept in community software applications.

dot tribes is a web service based platform that integrates content, conversations and Business Transactions. The service is offered through client applications in smart phones and it is also going to be offered through RIA (Rich Internet Applications) in desktop computers.

Once the users have the base application installed, they can subscribe to the different services and communities. The communities are maintened by the users. The services are supported by the platform.

On the other hand, this architecture is prepared to use a centralized Collective Intelligence based on the user inputs, but at the same time maximizing privacy keeping sensitive information in local databases.

The first application for consumers is available since in public beta on March 2010. It is a Content Management Service called "content dot tribes" offered first to iphone users.
